Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in most parts of the world, is a popular team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team's goal. The game is played on a rectangular field with goalposts at either end. Players use their feet, head, or any part of their body except their hands and arms (with the exception of the goalkeeper) to control and move the ball. Soccer is known for its simplicity and universal appeal, and it is the most widely followed and played sport globally. It has a massive fan base and is organized at both amateur and professional levels. The sport is governed by the rules set by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the international governing body for soccer. Soccer matches are typically played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with additional time added for stoppages and delays. In the case of a tie, some competitions may go into extra time or a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
